Meet Tom’s New Parents

In order to understand a child’s and an adolescent’s psychology, the anthology must also understand the psychology behind parenthood, specifically, how the Style of parenthood used affects the child’s psychology and development. In an example case study, the critic must dissect how stylish to help Paul and Mary and their son John — answering the question what the stylish way to parent him, especially with the new edition of his baby family. Paul and Mary can best help their son John through the different parenthood styles by understanding child psychology. The goods of each Style on the child, how they can learn the child’s development stage, and which parenthood style is best suited grounded on Piaget’s proposition.

The Three Parenthood Styles

Throughout psychology and behavioral health wisdom studies, I’ve realized how important parenthood truly affects a child’s tone- regard beneficially or poorly in the present and the future. Through classes and this text, scholars have learned further about the different styles of parenthood. The three main parenthood styles include authoritarian, authoritative, and permissive (Martorell et al., 2013). The authoritative parenthood style enforces their children’s norms and tries to discipline them for violating them; they use important ways and are generally distant and less warm than other parents (Martorell et al., 2013). The child tends to be more displeased, withdrawn, and suspicious (Martorell et al., 2013). Also, the authoritative parent emphasizes the individuality of the child but also highlights constraints (Martorell et al., 2013).

These parents are confident in their capability to guide their children. Still, they also admire their children’s independent interests, opinions, and personalities (Martorell et al., 2013). They’re tender but still want good discipline from the child (Martorell et al., 2013). Incipiently, the permissive parent makes many conditions and allows their children to cover their conditioning, and they infrequently discipline them (Martorell et al., 2013). The authoritative parenthood style is the most stylish of the three because these parents set reasonable prospects and realistic norms (Martorell et al., 2013). This Style is also good at including the parent’s studies and opinions (Yee, 2021). Each parenthood style is unique, but one stands out the most stylish among the others.

The Goods of the Parenthood Styles

Parenthood, no matter what can affect tone- regard because it can harm or help the child feel comfortable in their tone- generalities. Still, it first takes good parenthood as an illustration of how to do that. Grounded on the parenthood styles described over, the critic of this case-specific case study can represent how each Style affects the child. For the authoritarian, John may feel controlled and bound to his parents (Martorell et al., 2013). While if the permissive Style is used on John, he’ll learn to potentially come too independent and ignore the value of having the opinions and expostulations of Mary and Paul (Martorell et al., 2013). Incipiently, the authority will help John learn the correctional sense of the parents and how their opinions are over the children. Still, they still show affection and compassion towards John’s new baby family experience (Yee, 2021).

Piaget’s Proposition & Conclusion

PSY 358 Topic 3 Meet Tom’s New Parents

Grounded on all the parenthood styles, it’s substantially known that the authoritative Style is the stylish overall for the child and their development. Authoritative bringing was explosively identified with advanced life satisfaction. The lack of parenting was the most pivotal factor in declining life satisfaction (Lavrič, 2020). While parenthood purely with an authoritarian parenting style had a significant negative impact on life satisfaction (Lavrič, 2020). Through parenthood styles, it’s also essential for parents to understand the experimental stages of the child so they can best approach each stage with readiness and care. Grounded on Piaget’s stage of single representations, parents’ good understanding of this stage can help their child understand what it means to be unique and an individual altogether (Martorell et al., 2013). All by each, Paul and Mary would best help John develop naturally and healthily. Still, they would also be helping their son as well.
