Skill Development Plan

Knowing which skill to develop is as essential to the success of a plan as developing that skill itself. Finding out the “correct” thing to focus on is very relative and may have multiple viable answers, so the two most significant places to begin are:

  •  Recognizing your own skill gaps and
  •  Assessing what traits should be improved for betterment.

Target Skill

Specify the outcome you are developing (Communication):

Strengths: Everyone has been born with gifted talents, and some enhance their resilience by gaining exposure in their daily routine. From child to adult, everybody is blessed to communicate their needs and ideas in their own way. Communication and patience play significant roles in our lives. It takes an act of courage and confidence to deliver your concept, which can create an impact on others and let others follow. One of the strengths I possess in problem-solving is communication; it has always helped me deliver my point of view and allow others to share their perspective to improve the outcome. While acquiring patience has helped me in doing the root cause analysis of problems, and I always try to figure out the problem by staying calm, doing communication, and staying patient. All these skills have helped me to better grasp the problem and will further help me in the future to become a better version of myself and develop the potential to groom in my professional life.

Areas of Improvement: Life is a process of continuous learning and improvement, and I want to further improve myself in areas of concentration and focus on the problem. Sometimes I become unaware of the surroundings, which sometimes leaves me needing more critical information. As a result, it takes some extra time to solve problems that is not right. So I will improve my area of focus and self-concentration mechanism to tackle problems with skills.

Desired Outcome: The effective skills of problems solving will help me excel in my academics and to be an efficient healthcare agent. I will be able to understand the problems of patients and develop strategies for improving their conditions and reducing their concerns. Problem-solving skills are essential in the nursing profession and improving these skills will not only help to solve daily problems in my nursing field but also encourage me to handle all issues in my personal life with calmness and resilience. I will make some novel and up-to-date changes in nursing practices and will communicate those changes to my colleagues to ensure the best outcomes and high-quality care for patients. To sum up, my skills in problem-solving will help me at Capella to propose some good solutions to problems and become an efficient healthcare nurse.

Goal Statement: Write a positive statement that includes your desired outcome and your imagined preferred future after development.

My goal statement would be to work on my communication, analysis, and concentration skills to patiently address problems or any loopholes in my orientation towards different problems and create a list of essential points to prevent missing important information.
