Part 1
Description of Technology
Microsoft Teams and Zoom
Microsoft Teams: Microsoft Teams is a live feed chat-based multifaceted platform complete with online meetings, document sharing with many useful features for our organization’s educational communications. Having an outstanding virtual resource for our team is key to being able to make inspired decisions and interconnect with each another. Collective workspace software makes this much easier to accomplish. Especially if a specific hospital group needs certain teachings and compentency learning, especially since our company is large, having many remote workers, and having a significant amount of team members (Ilag, 2020).
Zoom: Zoom is one of the industry leaders in remote resources since its establishment in 2011- Zoom thrives in the virtual communications business, undertaking united communications with their cloud stage for video, auditory conferencing, collaboration, text chat, and web services across all avenues. Zoom is a audiovisual conferencing platform that can be used for scheduling work meetings, auditory conferencing, and live chats (Antonelli, 2020).
Assumptions
In order to make a smart decision about a product purchase, our organization should make the effort to compare the products so a well-informed decision can be made. This workflow is important to make sure the right product needed: for example hospital bed, IV supplies, and medication vendors examples. In the end, comparison diagrams and tables allow our stakeholders to see visibly if one product better suited based on certain specifications and features (Dack & Roe, 2019). In our case, the comparison between Zoom and Microsoft Teams are imperative based on the tailored need of each department of the hospital. For example, at a very elevated bar, Zoom and Microsoft Teams both intersect and compete in ways that they offer similar services for audiovisual meetings- including private room features. Digging deeper into the more important features, pricing, speed, and media integrations are how our organization can assess trade-offs and make the finest decision as to which platform is a better fit.
Comparison of Features, Benefits, and Capabilities
Analysis
Zoom vs Microsoft Teams Compared
To be reasonable, Microsoft Teams and Zoom are not completely similar as far as what they’re used for. Since its inauguration, Zoom has been a formed video conference instrument, aimed at refining team messaging. Microsoft Teams, on the other hand, is more of an all-in-one business collaboration tool, offering video, messaging, calling, and collaboration for your whole team (Vergés Bausili, 2021).
Because Microsoft Teams and Zoom are fundamentally used for different purposes, the two platforms have some major differences. These include:
- Zoom is more suitible for small to medium-sized businesses- Our organizational needs may need more.
- Microsoft Teams is best for larger businesses, our facility has approximately 750 employees that need education remotely; particularly those that use other Microsoft options and resources.
- Zoom offers beginning-to-end encoding
- Microsoft Teams offers diverse collaboration tools, specifically for hospital theme meetings
- Microsoft Teams has Zoom incorporation available with extension.
- Zoom free plan: 150 participants, 40-minute time limit
- Microsoft Teams free plan: 600 participants, 70-minute time limit
Still, Microsoft Teams and Zoom offer nearly the same as far as video meetings are concerned. From group to one-on-one meetings, to folder and screen sharing, they have more in common than not.
Based on organizational size, needs, tasks, duties and responsibilities- Microsoft Teams would be a suitable fit for the tasks alloted
Nurse Educators Role
Healthcare professionals are learning from each other with developing products of their learning through video chat. Dack and Roe (2019) pronounces how organizations use mannequin test dummies connected to computer technology to produce a real-world exercise in the simulation lab. With this type of technology, healthcare educators can now do the same scenario through video chat. The learners can complete the exercise on a live feed and the nurse educator can talk to all the staff about how they did during the exercise. This method can also have the staff and learner share their experiences about the scenario- covering the comprehensive workflow of the exercise, leading the staff and students to gain a better understanding of the concepts. This educational technology would also allow the staff to practice clinical settings they would encounter in their practice in a safe and controlled environment. This aids to narrow the bridge between learning from a book in the classroom setting and practicing in real life scenario in a controlled setting- all on live feed video chat. With this technology, our organization, staff, and students can complete all our needed educational competencies through virtual learning. Huryx (2017) enlightens how healthcare educators and professionals can integrate any educations through video technologies, for example, by using live video calls and courses, it will comply with the recommendations of the CDC, Federal, and local governments to help decrease the spread of and illness- while giving all our staff the education need to accomplish their job requirements. This method should be studied by our staff, stakeholder, and patients-this can be a great asset for our organization.
Microsoft Teams Incorporated with Nursing Education
Microsoft Teams for our nursing education enables instructors to continue the learning momentum for our staff and nursing students in a computer-generated classroom setting instead of their standard classroom atmosphere (Ilag,2020). The nurse educators can easily communicate with the staff and students, host simulated learning webcasts, host Teams Meetings with any staff member and have the ability to store files or documents. The nursing instructors also have the capability to work together with students and staff on projects in unison to develop a sense that even though our health educators and staff are at a distance, you are both still in a interconnected and collective atmosphere.
