It was essential to deliver this news in a manner that maintained the quality of services they were receiving. Applying the principles of Human Communication: Message, and Constitutive Processes to this scenario, the following analysis emerges:

– The informative message stated that the employees would be reassigned to different work sites.

– The encoded message conveyed by the company implied that the employees would have new opportunities, some potentially better than their current ones. 

– However, the decoded message interpreted by the employees was that they were being laid off or terminated, perceiving a loss.

– The communication channel employed a multilayered approach, combining face-to-face verbal communication with a written document to convey the message.

– There were no significant interferences or noise during the delivery of the message.

– All parties involved were familiar with the company’s reassignment policies and competent in understanding the process. The employees had tenure with the company, and the culture of reassignment was well-established.

– The communication context involved delivering the message in a group setting, with the option for individual meetings if necessary. Upper-level supervisors with existing relationships with the employees were responsible for conveying the message.

Remarkably, this was also the actual effect achieved.
